Hey all.
My blogging has turned into "bitch sessions"... it's not good. I think I am on too many weblogs. I still love to do it, but since I have many to comment on (class blogs in the classes I am taking and teaching, the BisonBlog, this blog, my personal blog and my teaching blog) they are all starting to lack. I have to admit that I miss my personal one the most. I don't think that that is too shocking however.
The "stretch" project just got handed into me on Halloween and from the looks of the first 12 papers I just grabbed Tuesday as I left the office, it will be a sink or swim project for my students this semester. 4 of the 11 blew me out of the water: charts and surveys and powerpoints... others didn't even fulfill the required length. ERG! That is my biggest pet peeve I have discovered. Why do I say "5-7 pages please" when they turn in 3.5 and expect me to take the time to look at it.. granted, SOMETIMES those paper are good, but I can't give them full credit.
I have to focus on the 4 that are awesome projects. Some students latch onto this project.. others don't. It's not my fault.
