The IWS students occasionally use the blog to communicate with one another and post relevant materials, but certainly not with any great consistency or volume. The CompTheory students really only blog when I ask them to. Not many signs that this space is a motivating space, a space where students want to hang out.

My blogs continue to plug along, supporting my classes, but by no means revolutionizing them. One student in IWS started doing some research on "the future for Liberal Arts students" and discovered that editing might be dying as a career, but blogging is taking off.

Man, is it ever lonely in here ; )

I just wanted to report on a use of my weblog today. A student in IWS wants to do a project on video games and education. I couldn't remember the name of the education gaming guru I had filtered last semester, but I could just tell this student to go to my archives and search for "games". He did, found Marc Pensky on the first hit, and was off and running.

Having a weblog is like having many of your research/teaching notes available to you any time you are in a computer cluster. And with wireless handhelds, potentially most of the time in most places.
