STUMBLEDUPON a LOT of stuff tonight. My eyes are heavy- must sleep now. Came across Greg Ulmer's page and finally was able to read up on him more instead of hearing OF him.. which was cool. He is interesting in how he designs his site. Simple. I like it.

I am finding that I want to focus sub-categorically-like on critical thinking. Have we mentioned this? I feel like we have. Many students, fresh freshmen, have not done a whole heck of a lot of it in high school. We could at least have them blog on it... have them critically think on subjects familiar and then move them to the WWW and the more focused questions we have. Maybe I am just tired and this makes no sense. What follows is what I found. Perhaps you've seen some of the sites, but I feel like I found a few good ones. So far.

http://www.philosophy.unimelb.edu.au/reason/critical/
-Use for fall class? Interests me at least....

http://www.tc.edu/centers/eft
-Education for Thinking Project [What should education accomplish?.. Knowing about knowing... The value of knowing...]

http://www.utc.edu/Teaching-Resource-Center/critical.html#strategies
-Critical Thinking site: What is critical thinking? Why teach it?

http://class.unl.edu/class_demo/demos/compframe.htm
-Writing: A Window on the World. An somewhat online class based out of the U of Nebraska at Lincoln.

http://www.ucet.ufl.edu/~gulmer/
-Curriculum etc. to a course entitled: Writing through Media.. taught by Greg Ulmer at the U of Florida

I have nothing to blog, but am getting in the habit of checking (i.e. procrastinating). Must return to essay now.

Yeah, the citystories site has always intrigued me. Should we branch out and start some FM stories? The site also just seems ripe for Blogging--a focused blog about what your city did to you today. Farg o blew some beautiful Canadian air through my hair today--I didn't hate the place!

I started the last post by saying "I've been checking out some new stuff," but then I wrote the post and realized I didn't have much stuff, hence, "I guess that is my stuff--the site plus the browser"?

I met with Sheree and others today. I gave her some of our ideas--she will get back to us. Right Sheree : ) !

Hey, dynamic duo, I've been checking out some new stuff online.

Stumbleupon.com seems like an interesting variation on blogging and the democratic uses of the web. It has also lead me to using a Mozilla browser, instead of Netscape of IE--very interesting.

Okay, I guess that is my stuff--the site plus the browser. Let me know what you think.

Oh, and I also started messing around with Filemaker Pro, the database program I was telling you about Sybil. Not sure how well it works with the kind of web site I have in mind, but seemed pretty intuitive and easy to use, overall.

Thanks for your response Cindy... Wow, on a non-Mac computer, the screen is really different. Anyhow, I am going to punch away at a webpage of some sort soon. Perhaps I'll put the trial versions of Dreamweaver and Flash on my sister's computer so I can use them again. Just wanted to state, as if it wasn't assumed, that I feel really privileged to have worked with both of you on this. Ideas are pouring out of my head all the time. Gots to find a bucket to catch them all. More soon!!
